Week 1 is now over! I've figured out why boot camp is so successful: Although the workouts are tough, varied and thorough, the crux is just getting out of bed.  Since the class is outside, at 5:30 AM with darkness surrounding us from all sides, I believe my class is basically half asleep for most of the hour. Parents run a carnival for the kids and part of the fun includes an old fashioned cake walk.  All of the children go crazy for this event and try so hard to win a cake. This year the girls and I made 11 cakes!  My job is to bake all day, then the kids take over and get creative. My experience: The orphanage I visited today is a far cry from the one that I visited 8 years ago.  Our first adoption from Kunming (our daughter Victoria, now age 12 years) was 11 years ago in 1996. Jenni's orphanage has extended her a formal invitation to visit.  This is such amazing news!  We are so very fortunate.  Jenni lived at the Kunming Welfare Home for her first 9 years and the orphanage even raised the funds for her to have open-heart surgery when she was just 3 years old.
